Economics Olympiads (AEO/AAEO)

The Australian Economics Olympiad (AEO) is a series of fun, challenging activities aimed at refining and testing high school students' mastery of economics.  The AEO builds on and tests students' knowledge and problem-solving abilities in economics and develops their skills in applying economic facts and reasoning to real-world problems.

Students who make the national team in the AEO progress to the Australasian Economics Olympiad (AAEO), where they compete against teams from other countries in more challenging problems, both individually and as a team, applying economic reasoning and theory to solve real-world problems relevant to Australia in a global context.

High-school students with an interest in economics and problem-solving are highly encouraged to apply for the AEO in 2025!
